VP of WEST REGION, Jazmine Scanlan
Jaz is based in Los Angeles, California. Jazmine Scanlan started playing Netball in her home town of Turangi, New Zealand. Since discovering Netball exists in the USA in 2006 she has become an active member of Netball America and the Los Angeles Waves Netball Club and has served as a club secretary and currently President for the LA Waves. She has represented the LA Waves in the US Open National Championship consistently for the last 6 years, helping them to bring home a 2013 Netball America Cup Championship, the 2014 Division II Championship and the 2015 Division I 2nd place wins. She supports local efforts to partner with schools to introduce Netball to the youth and as VP of the West Region will help align clubs and support their growth and community exposure to Netball. VP of YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, Hyacinth Douglas
Hyacinth has more than 30 years experience in playing, coaching, umpiring and developing netball in three countries (Jamaica, Canada and USA). As a past Canadian National player and Provisional player – Quebec, Hyacinth was a pioneer in the development of developing netball programs in Ontario, Canada. Co-founder and coach Gems Netball and development of netball in Georgia USA, Hyacinth was also the the Netball America – Make a Difference Award recipient 2013. Hyacinth is passionate about giving youth the opportunity to learn life skills through sport. Hyacinth has alos been a Netball America Assist Coach & presenter at National Teachers Conferences and also Netball America Assist Coach & presenter for Bermuda development. Hyacinth is also instrumental in the development of the US Open Youth Championships. Hyacinth is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
VP of COACHING, Rebecca Jones
Rebecca brings with her a wealth of practical high level coaching qualifications and playing experience. Rebecca is a an England Netball UKCC Level 2 Coach, has a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science and has a Certificate in Higher Education. Rebecca’s coaching experience includes head coach of the University of Liverpool, North West Regional Performance Pathway Academy Coach, Asst coach to ADP athletes for Yorkshire Jets Superleague Netball, former head netball coach at Manchester Metropolitan University and very experienced coaching primary and secondary schoolkids. Rebecca was a superleague player for Manchester Thunder and Yorkshire Jets and was part of England Netball Development, A and First Squad’s from 2002-2009. Rebecca has a great vision in how to drive the high performance pathway for our USA athletes and coaches ensuring they’re trained in accordance with world class standards. VP of OLYMPICS and INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, Kelli McShane
Kelli sees the introduction of Netball to the Special Olympics dramatically increasing inclusion in the community by helping break down barriers that have historically kept people with and without cognitive disabilities apart. It will also provide opportunities to individuals with cognitive disabilities who are not presently involved with Special Olympics. Her work with Special Olympics is to fulfill the mission of providing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community.
As a Fitness Educator, former USA National Team representative, and a current member of the West Coast representative team, Kelli will make a difference by helping people pursue a healthy, active life. Her vision is also helping drive a lot of our international programs. Kelli is based in Dallas, Texas.
Prue’s passion for umpiring progressed her through the umpire ranks of Netball Australia very quickly. From obtaining her C grade umpires’ award at sweet 16 and then being awarded the All Australia (AA) award at just 21. By the age of 23, Prue received the highest umpire’s award in the world – the International Umpire’s Award (endorsed in 2001). Prue umpired various international matches such as Australia vs NZ, participated in tours to Jamaica, Cook Islands, England etc. In recognition of Prue’s Australian sporting achievement she was awarded the Australian Sports Medal in 2000. Prue is responsible for developing the first premier USA National Netball Pool of Umpires. Prue has received her PhD in physiotherapy and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Dept of Physical Therapy at Northeastern University. Prue is based in North Carolina.
Josh has been involved for many years capturing netball magic in photos and film for Netball America and is based in New York. Involved in the communications field and television production, Josh, is the President of Fridge Films, Inc. Josh’s Specialties: fluent in Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Audition and Apple Motion. You can view Josh’s work by looking at the many wonderful video productions he has done on behalf of Netball America.
VP of Medical,
Simon Williams is a certified physiotherapist and nurse and is based in Miami, Florida. Simon is responsible for overseeing all our medical processes and procedures at all Netball America sanctioned events.
