ENSURE THAT YOUTH PARTICIPATING IN OUR PROGRAMS AND EVERY ASPIRING USA NETBALL ATHLETE RECEIVES THE OPPORTUNITIES THEY DESERVE. HELP US MAKE SPORTS ACCESSIBLE WHILE IMPARTING FOUR FOUNDATIONAL BENEFITS OF SPORTS: LEADERSHIP, SELF-ESTEEM, CONFIDENCE, AND PERSEVERANCE.
In today’s world, it has become more important than ever that our young people get the best possible start in life. And yet, for those youth with disabilities or from deprived backgrounds, the chance to fulfil their potential is often challenging. By intervening as early as possible and giving young people the direct support they need, we can dramatically improve their future prospects and make long-term cost savings for society. Our aim is to inspire the youth to embrace sports and physical activity as building blocks for life. We owe it to the youth to provide access to sports and the leadership training experience that results from participation.
Kids are getting fatter and sicker and people think the 2 main food groups are caffeine and sugar. We are facing a generation of kids who won’t outlive their parents. An average American carries 23 extra pounds and every minute a person in the USA dies from heart disease. Our goal is to help educate the youth on these matters and provide them with a great opportunity to participate in physical fitness and education programs to help them not be one of these statistics.
Girls who play sports have a more positive body image, better overall physical health and lower obesity better grades in school, a higher graduation rate and a greater likelihood to attend college.

Youth Enrichment Initiatives
You can watch a video about this initiative here.
Netball America invites you to join us in improving the lives of others as we champion active lifestyles for youth, fight child obesity, and create healthy role models. According to the American Obesity Association, approx. 30.4% of adolescents are overweight and 15.5% are considered obese. Adolescents with weight problems tend to have lower self-esteem, higher rates of depression, anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder. Obesity is much more than an individual problem; it costs the United States nearly $100 billion and 300,000 lives annually.
Netball America recently received 2 grants from the Women’s Sports Foundation to run our education and fitness programs to underserved and disadvantaged youth in Seattle and Atlanta areas. In addition, we conducted summer camps throughout New York to help the underserved youth within New York City Housing. To continue these programs, we rely on support from the community. Your generous contribution will provide resources and education for children who currently do not have access to these nutrition and fitness programs. Emphasis in these programs is on proper exercise, nutrition and leadership.
The GoGirlGo! Program is specifically designed to reach girls in a high risk and underserved population and help them get moving towards greater health and confidence.
Special Olympics Program
Our work with the Special Olympics is to fulfill the mission of providing opportunities to special needs athletes to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community. Netball will also provide opportunities to individuals with cognitive disabilities who are not presently involved with Special Olympics.
We do not charge the Special Olympics for this program; rather we depend upon financial contributions and donations from individuals, corporations, and organizations.
Community Center & School Programs
Netball America conducts various programs and community volunteer events during the school year as well as summer camps for Community Center organizations, schools, YMCA’s, Parks and Recs etc. Read our commendation letter from the New York City Housing Authority. There are many benefits in supporting these programs: providing underserved youth opportunities they would never get, access for promotion of your business to the community, youth, parents, and teachers, as well as recognition that you are doing good in the community. You are also able to provide material and products to the public through our booths located at these events.
Netball America conducts showcases, including exhibitions and clinics throughout the USA. We have conducted showcases in conjunction with the WNBA/NBA at Madison Square Garden in NY, LA STAPLES Center, and NJ Prudential Center with exposure to more than 50,000 basketball fans. As part of these exhibitions we sponsor underserved youth to attend. We provide them with once in a lifetime experiences by having them attend, participate in contests on the floor of these prestigious venues, and provide them with tshirts, food and drink while at these events. Recently we sponsored the Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN – a charity organization founded by singer-songwriter Mary J. Blige and music executive Steve Stoute), New York City Housing Authority youth, Martin Luther King Jnr Elementary School, Kids in Sports, George Washington Carver High School as well as Boys and Girls clubs. If you would like to have your organization be considered for this sponsor program, please contact us.
Our volunteers travel around the country conducting clinics and conferences to expose teachers and students to the benefits of our education program. Donating to these programs helps us to be able to continue these clinics and you also have the opportunity to reach out to thousands of teachers and students by sponsoring products or collateral at information booths at these events.
